Artwork featured in the Whitefish Review

My collage, "The Hikers," is going to be featured in the sixth issue of the Whitefish Review, which launches on December 17th, 2009.

The Whitefish Review is a literary journal based in Whitefish, Montana. It features works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, art, and interviews that focus on mountain culture. You can order the sixth issue and previous issues of the Whitefish Review through their website.

Current Exhibition: "Art in City Hall: Our Town"

Two of my collages, "Street in Old Town" (the same piece featured in Art Calendar) and "Torpedo Factory," are currently on display in Alexandria's City Hall until January 8th, 2010 - so you have a little more time to swing by the exhibition before it ends. The exhibition focuses on images of Alexandria and artwork about Alexandria.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and the exhibition is not open during City holidays.

New Etsy Art & Shopping Discounts

I currently have six original autumn collages available for sale in my online Etsy shop - "Owl," "The Black Cat," "Fall Squash," "Autumn Flowers," "Yellow Flowers," and "Pumpkin Patch." I've also listed a couple of my small collages that are part of my winter series, "Holly," "Purple Penguin," and "When Penguins Find Love." The prices of the smaller collages in my Etsy store range from $60 - $100.

I've also started creating a few batches of handmade magnets. Each magnet is made with a glass stone, a print of one of my collages, a small but powerful magnet, and a plastic acrylic backing. By stopping by my Etsy shop, you can order sets of six bubble magnets for $12. Each set comes packaged and ready for gift-giving. I also take custom orders for handmade magnets if you'd like magnets of specific collages in my online galleries or blog.

For all subscribers of my e-newsletter, I'm offering free shipping and handling on all orders and $10 off any original collage art ordered through my Etsy shop. This offer is available until January 8th, 2010. To order through Etsy, you'll need to setup a free account. Then just send me a message with the promo code HOLSHOPPING09 and I'll refund you the amount for shipping and handling and the discount for any original art.

Art Merchandise for the Holidays

With the holidays approaching, you can catch up on your shopping by stopping by my online store. You can order prints and notecards of original collages, buy apparel like sweatshirts, or order small gifts like my art mugs. If you'd like to order merchandise of a collage that you've seen on my blog or through my online galleries, but it's not currently for sale in the online store, just send me an email letting me know the title of the collage you'd like to order and the type of merchandise you'd like to see it available as.

Studio Update & New Art Animation

I'm currently hard at work preparing for my first solo exhibition in July of 2010 as well as my second solo exhibition that will take place in August/September 2010. Aside from my exhibition preparations, as well as making new artwork specifically for these upcoming shows, I'm also researching other venues where I could hold future solo exhibitions. I'll keep you posted on all of my upcoming scheduled exhibitions.

I'm also experimenting with animating my collages - you can take a look at a video I posted on YouTube where I've animated a collage getting pieced together. In the future, I hope to work on shooting video footage of my collage process to share the way my work evolves from start to finish.

And that's everything for now. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
