"Stories in Paper" - Opening Reception
July 8th, 2010; 6:30 - 8:30p.m.

You are invited to my solo show opening reception on July 8th, from 6:30 - 8:30p.m. "Stories in Paper" runs from July 8th until August 2nd, 2010. It features a body of work that's entirely different than the work on display at the Fisher Gallery exhibition. The "Stories in Paper" series was completed during the course of last year, with a couple of collages that were completed this year.

Opening Reception and Artist Talk: Thursday, July 8, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Gallery Hours:
Monday - Saturday: 10am - 6pm
Thursdays: 10am - 9pm
Sundays: 12pm - 6pm

Blogging for Artists with Megan Coyle
July 15th, 2010; 7:00 - 8:00p.m.

I'm giving a lecture on "Blogging for Artists" at the Art League in Old Town, Alexandria. I will cover the basics of blogging for those who aren't familiar with the medium as well as tips and ideas for artists who have already had an introduction to blogging. The lecture will be held on Thursday, July 15th, from 7:00 - 8:00p.m.

Visiting Artist Program

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to visit me in studio 30 on the first floor of the Torpedo Factory Art Center. I'm currently a Visiting Artist at the art center for June and July of 2010. At the moment, I have several of my animal collages and a couple portrait collages on display and available for sale. You can also buy packs of my handmade magnets.

"Local Scene" Exhibit
June 4th - July 20th, 2010

I currently have four of my scapes collages on display at Scene Gallery at National Harbor, Maryland for a group exhibition called "Local Scene." "Local Scene" features artwork depicting different sights in the Washington, D.C. area.

Wednesday - Thursday: 12pm – 6pm
Friday - Saturday: 12pm - 8pm

Upcoming Solo Exhibit at Goodwin House
August 1st - September 25th, 2010

In August I'll have a solo show at the Goodwin House that showcases my animal collages. The exhibit, "The Animal Kingdom," features older collages as well as recent work completed during my Visiting Artist position at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. The work is inspired primarily from visits to the National Zoo and the Natural History Museum in Washington, D.C.

Etsy Updates

My Etsy shop has been somewhat neglected these past couple of months as I've worked away preparing for all of my exhibitions this summer. Once my exhibit work has calmed down a bit, I hope to get started on a new series of mini collages to post on my Etsy store. I'm thinking about doing a coffee cup and tea pot series - something that I'll tie into my blog as well.


Studio Update

 I am currently working on a series of animal collages for my upcoming exhibit at the Goodwin House. Next month I hope to get started on a series of landscapes for the exhibit at NIH. Although I've been working away on work for future shows, I've also continued to dabble in animation. Later this year, I hope to get started on an animated collage short. Recently, I collaborated on a 3d model - Birdy Collage Character Study (I designed the character and created the collage texture).
